Did you know that the construction industry has one of Queensland’s highest fatality and injury rates? According to WorkSafe Queensland, although fatalities have been on the decline since 2007, the State had 41 fatalities in 2019 – that’s nearly 25% of Australia’s workplace related injuries in Queensland alone. Of these 41 fatalities, 35 were attributed to construction, mining and other related jobs. Taking a closer look at fatalities by occupation, 8 were mobile plant and vehicle operators, 3 were managers, and 3 were labourers.

Training subsidies available
Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) provides subsidies to approved applicants for our First Aid and CPR courses.
