Content Summary

Option 1 – Forklift WORK READY (3 days)

This is a 3 day intensive training and assessment course. Participants will attend on all 3 days to complete theory, practical training and assessment with our qualified trainer and assessor.

This course option is suitable for participants without access to a workplace to gain experience, or workplaces who don’t have the resources to supervise staff while gaining experience. Learners must meet a level of practical ability before undergoing a Workplace Health & Safety Queensland licensing practical assessment on the final day. If at any time, the assessor recognises the need for the participant to undergo additional training, participants will be given their log book to obtain additional experience in the workplace or offered further hours to complete at an additional practical training session(s). Should this be required, re-attendance fees may apply.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and the required paperwork to apply for a WH&S QLD HIGH RISK FORKLIFT (LF) licence.

Option 2 – Forklift LOG BOOK (1 day + Assessment)

Participants of this course will gain the required knowledge to safely and effectively operate a forklift truck. They will then be provided a log book and are required to obtain and log hours via workplace experience. It is up to the participant to organise their own access to operate a forklift truck under the supervision of a licenced operator. The log book will be required to be sighted by the accredited assessor prior to assessment. Participants are welcome to book in for assessment when they feel competent to undertake the mandated assessment.

Option 3 –Forklift EXPERIENCED (1 day + Assessment)

This course is for experienced forklift operators only, who have the practical operational skills and able to provide supporting evidence. You may be an experienced operator if you identify as any of the following:

  • Currently operating on an expired licence

  • Have operated a Forklift regularly in the workplace in the last 12 months

  • Hold a licence from, or experience gained whilst enlisted in the armed forces

  • Hold a Forklift Licence from overseas

Candidates for this course will be required to complete the Theory session (1 day) and perform a practical pre-assessment to identify competence and readiness for the Workplace Health & Safety Queensland licensing practical assessment.
